Apply Now for the Young Investigator Award 2025
The Schering Stiftung is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Young Investigator Award 2025. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional achievements in basic research across the life sciences. It is designed to support emerging scientists who have completed their doctoral studies and are distinguished by their unique scientific profiles. It carries a prize money of € 10,000.

APPLICATION CRITERIA
- Applicants must have completed an excellent dissertation within the last six years (if justified, exceptions may be granted).

- Applicants must work in Germany.
- Applicants are committed to exploring foundational questions in life sciences, contributing to our understanding of complex
biological systems and processes. - We welcome applications from all areas of the life sciences, emphasizing innovative, basic research that holds potential for
groundbreaking discoveries. - Applicants should have developed a distinctive scientific profile, demonstrating potential for future excellence.
- It is essential that applicants work autonomously and have a proven track record of independent research, as evidenced by their
publications. - Persons holding a tenured professorship or an equivalent permanent position are not eligible for consideration.

- Letter of motivation (2 pages max.) that includes a brief summary of your research, a statement on why you believe you
deserve the award, and an explanation of how the prize would benefit your scientific career - One standardized letter of recommendation (see below) from an established scientist who is not
a member of your department/institute - List of your five most important publications including copies of the first three
- Official documents are required to verify exceptions to the requirement that the doctoral degree was conferred within the
last 6 years.
