“What is it in man that lies, murders, steals?” (Georg Büchner) Can we predict a person’s risk of becoming a criminal? Is it in people’s “blood” (or DNA)? What outside circumstances turn people into criminals? What makes exerting power and control over another human being so attractive? Is Bluebeard a psychopath? And Judith a masochist? Who is the perpetrator, and who is the victim?

GUESTS: Prof. Dr. John-Dylan Haynes (brain researcher, Berlin Center for Advanced Neuroimaging, Charité, Humboldt University of Berlin), Prof. Dr. Peter A. Albrecht (emeritus professor of law and criminology, Goethe University Frankfurt)
WITH: Singers and musicians of the Komische Oper Berlin
MODERATORS: Pavel B. Jiracek and Johanna Wall

Gianni Schicchi / Bluebeard’s Castle (performances on March 1, 7, 15 & 19, 2015 | April 5, 12 & 17, 2015 | July 8, 2015)
