Salon on Efficiency

Date:

January 12, 2015, 7:30–9 p.m.

Venue:

Komische Oper Berlin
Behrenstraße 55-57

“Efficiency” is the criterion of our society. “Will it pay off?“ is the all-dominant question, not only when it comes to money matters. Does every effort have to yield a return (like the fictitious film shooting in South America in Nico Dostal’s operetta Clivia)? Shouldn’t there be room for aesthetic inefficiency and profligacy? Especially in the theater?

GUESTS: Dr. Sigrid Evelyn Nikutta (CEO, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), invited), Prof. Dr. Hartmut Rosa (sociologist, University of Jena, invited)
WITH: Singers and musicians of the Komische Oper Berlin
MODERATORS: Rainer Simon and Ulrich Lenz

Clivia (performances on October 5, 16 & 26, 2014 | November 1, 2014 | January 27, 2015 | February 2, 2015)
