The Berlin Foundation Week 2025 will again open with a keynote address. The festive event will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Rote Rathaus in Berlin.
This year’s keynote speaker is Prof. Dr. Maja Göpel. For over 25 years, the political economist and transformation researcher has studied and worked at the intersection of science, politics, and civil society engagement.
Maja Göpel is professor for sustainability transformation at Leuphana University Lüneburg and founder of “Mission Wertvoll,” a Berlin-based nonprofit organization that aims to make visibe social and ecological innovations. Previously, she was Director of Research at The New Institute in Hamburg and Secretary-General of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU). Her books have been translated into ten languages and are bestsellers in the field of sustainability and social transformation.
For the first time, the Berlin Foundation Week is organized by the newly established association Berliner Stiftungen e.V.
The event offers an opportunity to discuss current social challenges and the role of foundations in transformation processes.
