The work 75 Watt by Tuur Van Balen & Revital Cohen is also part of the exhibition “assemble | standard | minimal” at Schering Stiftung, Berlin. This partner exhibition opens on January 22, 2015 at 7 p.m. Cohen and Van Balen translate our times of automated and standardised production technologies into performative installations, provocative objects, and subtly aestheticised documentary films. The exhibition runs until 3 May 2015.

In the course of its 28 year history, the annual transmediale festival has turned into an essential event in the calendar of media art professionals, artists, activists and students from all over the world. This year’s transmediale carries the title CAPTURE ALL and presents the guest exhibition “Time & Motion: Redefining Working Life”. Schering Stiftung supports the attendance of Revital Cohen & Tuur Van Balen at this exhibition which will be accessible at Studiogalerie at Haus der Kulturen der Welt. “Time & Motion” uses artworks, research projects, archival materials and interventions to track our journey through the world of work, from clocking on at the factory gates to checking in online from our home office.

At a time of structural changes in the labour market and sharp transitions in business practice to address global recession, the exhibition asks timely questions including ‘What happened to the eight hour day?’, ‘What is your work life balance?’ and ‘How has technology affected the way that you work?’
