The Schering Stiftung awards the 2025 Ernst Schering Prize to Volker Haucke for his groundbreaking discoveries regarding the function of signaling lipids that control the cell response to internal or external signals such as messenger substances, hormones or nutrients. Since lipid signaling disorders are related to numerous human diseases, his research has far-reaching biomedical implications of utmost clinical importance, from stroke to neurodegenerative diseases to cancer.
