The Schering Stiftung promotes the life sciences, the contemporary arts, as well as scientific and cultural education. A key focus of the Foundation’s activities is on projects at the interface of science and art. The Foundation aims to promote the dialogue and exchange between the disciplines. It wants to create a space for new ideas and inject creative ideas into society.
The work of the Foundation is guided by the following four objectives:
The Schering Stiftung awards prizes to people who have made pioneering or significant contributions to science or art, with the goal of preserving and making visible their ground-breaking works.
One focus of the Schering Stiftung is on interdisciplinary projects, in particular at the interface of science and art, with the goal of crossing boundaries and broadening horizons. The Foundation thus creates innovation and provides creative inspiration to society.
Our future is in the minds of young people. Therefore, the Foundation supports particularly talented young scientists and artists, awards prizes for their work and encourages them to take a leading role in society.
The Schering Stiftung introduces children and youth to scientific and cultural issues and contributes to improving science education in schools. In addition, it supports the intercultural dialogue and new ways of integrating disadvantaged children and young people.
