For his pioneering contributions in the area of organocatalysis and organo-cascade catalysis Prof. Dr. David MacMillan is awarded with the Ernst Schering Prize 2015. The 50,000-euro prize is one of the most prestigious German science awards. For her outstanding research on the molecular genetic mechanisms of endocrinological and metabolic diseases Dr. Nina Henriette Uhlenhaut is awarded with the Friedmund Neumann Prize 2015. The Ernst Schering Stiftung awards the 10,000-euro prize to young scientists who have done outstanding basic research in human biology, organic chemistry or human medicine and who have already developed a distinctive scientific profile since completing their dissertation.
The Prize will be presented to the awardees by Prof. Dr. Jörg Hacker, at an official ceremony which will take place on September 28th at Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Berlin. On the occasion of the award ceremony, both awardees will present their research.
Prof. Dr. Peter H. Seeberger will give the presentation speech at the award ceremony to Prof. Dr. David MacMillan. Dr. Nina Henriette Uhlenhaut was nominated for the Friedmund Neumann Prize 2015 by Prof. Dr. Norbert Hübner. He will give the presentation speech to Nina Henriette Uhlenhaut.
