The title “Copykids” takes its cue from the terms “copycats” (imitators) and “copycat” businesses – that is, businesses imitating or copying a business idea. As part of the project, the participants explore the possibilities offered by supposedly new cultural techniques such as “copy & paste,” “sampling,” and “coworking.” How to rate individual creative achievement as compared to collective achievement? What possibilities present themselves when adapting and further developing an idea? What is the potential of copying errors and discrepancies? Workshop participants will enlarge, minimize, move and distort. With the aid of a light board or a camera, image details can be arranged and made into new works.
