For the seventeenth time, the Berliner Stiftungswoche is taking place. From April 14 to April 24, 2026, Berlin-based foundations are dedicating themselves to this year’s focus theme, »WHY THE FUTURE NEEDS US«, and showing how they are already actively involved in shaping our future today and why all of us can be part of this task.

The future does not come about by itself. It is shaped by the decisions we make today — in politics, in civil society, and through our joint actions. Much of what we need for a good future is already in place. What is needed are positive visions of the future that provide orientation and give courage. Berlin Foundation Week 2026 invites us to understand the future as a shared task.
