Our society is constantly confronted with pressing challenges: wars, inflation, climate collapse, social justice, the quality of education, and the preservation of cultural diversity. Only through collective action and mutual support can creativity, innovative strength, and foresight be activated — enabling a strong civil society to make meaningful contributions in addressing these challenges.
Together with the Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection, we will discuss how the capacity of civil society in Berlin can be strengthened. What responsibilities and roles do foundations and foundation supervisory authorities assume in this context? How can a dialogue on equal footing be achieved, and under what conditions do the respective stakeholders operate?
These and other questions will be discussed by representatives of the Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection, Martin-Michael Passauer, emeritus chair of the board of trustees of the Koepjohann’sche Stiftung, and Marie Hoffmann, Head of Office of the Stiftung Charité Berlin. The event will be moderated by Gottfried Haufe. You are warmly invited to actively contribute to the dialogue and to network in an informal setting during the reception that follows.
This event is a cooperation between the Koepjohann’sche Stiftung, the Schering Stiftung, and the Stiftung Brandenburger Tor, and takes place as part of the Berliner Stiftungswoche (April 14–24, 2026), which this year focuses on the theme »WHY THE FUTURE NEEDS US«.
