The central topic of the “Public Understanding of Science (PUS)”
initiative is to improve the relationship between science and the
public. During a workshop organized by the fellows themselves, they
discussed how this might be achived. The workshop examined both the
current situation in science communication and special communication
skills helpful to convey a scientific subject to a non-expert
public. As interdisciplinary as the PUS initiative itself, as big was
the spectrum of topics presented at the workshop.
