On September 29, 2022, the Schering Stiftung awards two sciences prizes for pioneering basic research in medicine, biology and chemistry in Berlin.
The Foundation honors Prof. Dr. Gisbert Schneider with the 50,000-euro Ernst Schering Prize 2022. He receives the prize for his outstanding research in the field of molecular design, especially the development of machine learning methods to predict drug activity. The transfer of this innovative concept into medicinal chemistry and chemical biology is recognized as an important contribution to the theory and practice of modern biomedicine.
The Schering Stiftung awards the 10,000-euro Friedmund Neumann Prize 2022 to Dr. Sarah Kim-Hellmuth for her pathbreaking work in studying the genetic influence on human gene activity variability.
