The Schering Foundation is planning a new project to support experienced postdocs in the life sciences in the Berlin/Brandenburg region as they transition into their new roles as junior research group leaders. The aim is to complement existing funding opportunities and address the specific challenges faced at this stage of their careers.

As part of an ideas workshop, invited postdocs, junior research group leaders and stakeholders from academic administration will come together to identify needs, reflect on existing structures and develop new approaches. Alongside brief presentations, the focus will be on intensive discussion.

In addition to brief presentations from the participants, the main focus is on extensive time for joint discussion; every participant is equally encouraged to contribute.

The event is designed as an internal format and is primarily aimed at invited participants. In selected cases, however, there is the possibility of allocating individual places to external guests from academia and the foundations sector who are closely linked to the topic.
