Our nutritional behavior is one of the most complex and fascinating human behaviors. The wide variety of what we eat and the flexibity when, where and with whom we eat, shows the high adaptability of normal nutritional behavior. It is determined both by conscious processes and decisions and by unconscious processes and habits. In her lecture, “Why We Eat What We Eat,” the health psychologist Prof. Dr. Britta Renner presents different explicit and implicit control mechanisms of nutritional behavior and shows how we can change nutritional behavior.
