In April 2018 the new Germany Scholarships theme course “Natur der Wahrnehmung – Kunst der Täuschung” (Nature of Perception – Art of Deception)” started at the excellence cluster “Bild Wissen Gestaltung” in cooperation with the Humboldt University’s Faculty of Life Sciences and the Berlin School of Mind and Brain. Over the course of a year, students from the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences regularly meet for workshops and colloquiums and do small-group research on four different topics.

• Biology and physiology of perception and forms of deception
• Perception psychology and perception disorders
• Philosophy and cultural history of perception / history and politics of perception
• (Productive) deceptions in art, culture and technology
