In this episode, we turn for the third and last time to the program “Max – Artists in Residence at Schools,” an aesthetic education project of the Stiftung Brandenburger Tor that the Schering Stiftung has supported for two years. After the Carl-Humann Elementary School in Berlin in 2020, the Schering Stiftung supports the residency of artist Christoph Medicus at the Evangelische Schule in Neuruppin in 2021.
In the podcast, Christoph Medicus talks about artworks in the schoolyard and the moments of surprise and irritation they trigger in the students. He discusses the opportunities and challenges that working at a school brings for an artist, and reports on his dream of forming an aesthetically working collective together with the students, who conceive and realize artworks collaboratively.
