Tobias Esch is a neuroscientist, health researcher and general practitioner. Since 2016, he has worked as Institute Director and Professor for Integrative Health Care and Health Promotion at the University of Witten/Herdecke, where he also founded the University Outpatient Clinic for Integrative Health Care there in the spirit of a "Medicine of Tomorrow" (2018). His non-fiction books "Der Selbstheilungscode" or "Die bessere Hälfte" (together with Eckart von Hirschhausen) have received several awards. bCurrently (2021) published by Goldmann Verlag: "Mehr nichts - Warum wir weniger vom Mehr brauchen".

Mona Schrempf studied Ethnology, Indian Art History and Ancient American Studies at FU Berlin. She completed her PhD on the local history, social organization, and performance of Tibetan ritual mask dances in a religious community of Bonpo in Amdo, Sichuan Province, China. Her postdoctoral ethnographic research, in addition to topics of ritual performance, addresses notions and everyday practices of health and illness, Tibetan medical practices, and ritual healing in the Himalayas and Tibet in the context of national health systems and socio-political as well as cultural transformation processes. Her research primarily concerns Tibetan or culturally Tibetan-influenced communities in China (TAR, Sichuan and Qinghai provinces) and in the Himalayan borderlands of India and Bhutan, exiled Tibetan communities in German-speaking Europe, and transnational Tibetan medical practice, among others, as part of European complementary medicine in a comparison of China and Europe.
