An invitation to a blind date – with the most important partners: our body and our mind. We will rendezvous at Schinkel’s Rotunda in the Altes Museum, under the gaze of Asclepius, the great physician of antiquity. There, we will be welcomed and guided by music – to meet the organism we are, complete with sophisticated self-regulatory mechanisms uniting “body and mind,” spirit, physicality, and soul.
How much personal and societal potential lies in not defining health ex negativo, but rather understanding it as a “miracle work” of sophisticated systems that interact to achieve balance and healing? In the Schinkel Rotunda in the Altes Museum, the most up-to-date knowledge, the holistic approach of historical chambers of wonder, and music from Asia and Europe combine to create a new format. The neuroscientist, physician and best-selling author Prof. Tobias Esch, the anthropologist Dr. Mona Schrempf, the Sheng virtuoso Wu Wei and the multi-instrumentalist Niko Meinhold will enter into a dialogue about body and mind, music and world view.
Concept and moderation: Bernhard Glocksin, Neuköllner Oper.
