Seven young composers from Germany and the Czech Republic set to music poems by the poets Daniela Danz (GER) and Petr Borkovec (CZ) in the other foreign language. Thus they came closer to the language and culture of the neighboring country. Interpreters of these new works are members of the young Prague ensemble KONVERGENCE.

The Schering Stiftung supports the project as part of its efforts to promote the arts and culture as well as the dialogue between Germany and Eastern European countries. The music project initiated by Klangnetz e.V. perfectly combines these goals: It promotes not only the exchange between young composers and musicians from different countries, but also current trends in classical music in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.

Established in 2003, Klangnetz is an association of young composers, musicians and musicologists living in Berlin. Since its foundation, the association has organized fifteen concerts and thus provided audiences with a large overview of the works by young artists. The focus is on first performances of works by young Berlin-based composers, but there have also been performances of works by young colleagues from other European countries such as Poland, Iceland, the Netherlands, and most recently the Czech Republic in the context of various exchange projects. Klangnetz is very much interested in presenting the works in an unusual or novel concert situation, e.g. by collaborating with stage designers or performing in spaces that are not normally used for concerts. Klangnetz distinguishes itself by an enormous aesthetic diversity much appreciated by audiences, thus serving less as an educational establishment than a social network.
