After receiving the emeritus status in 2001, Professor Rajewsky moved from Cologne to Harvard University where he is still successfully leading a scientific research group. With bestowing the Ernst Schering Prize on Mr. Klaus Rajewsky, the Schering Stiftung also would like to advert to the fact that the German science system is suffering from the loss of outstanding scientists by putting up rigid age restrictions.
