Prof. Dr. Matthias Mann, director at the Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried is awarded the Ernst Schering Prize 2012 for his internationally leading accomplishments in the area of medical, biological and chemical basic research. He will receive the prize, which carries an award of 50,000 Euro, for his seminal work exploring the proteome – the complete complement of the proteins of an organism. PD Dr. Sylvia Mechsner from the Department of Gynecology at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin is awarded the Friedmund Neumann Prize 2012 for her outstanding work on the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
