November 09, 2014, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
22.10.2014, Berlin | Entitled “Of Humans and Animals,” the eighth Children’s Festival at the Gemäldegalerie, which will take place on November 9, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., revolves around all creatures great and small – on Earth and on canvas. The Kaiser Friedrich Museum Association and the Visitor Services of the National Museums in Berlin organize this annual creative family day to introduce the youngest to the masterworks of the rich and varied Berlin collections. The Schering Stiftung is delighted to once again support this common cause.
In short guided tours suitable for children, the young visitors and their families are invited to go on a safari to discover the diverse animal world of the Old Masters. There you will meet not only familiar companions of humans such as dogs and cats, oxen and donkeys, but also wild animals such as lions and monkeys and occasionally even very strange and colorful fantasy and mythical creatures. The same diversity characterizes the festival’s side events. In addition to beastly good theater and music performances, children can get busy as bees and engage in a variety of arts and crafts activities or solve puzzles like clever ravens while the market in the lobby caters to those hungry as a bear. The festival is moderated by the “Lobster Benjamin” team und “Clarissa,” members of the “Young Emperors” section of the Kaiser Friedrich Museum Association.
