Look before you leap. Think before you act. This creed promises success – for a completely informed individual in a predictable world. But our globalized world is complex, time in our accelerated 21st century increasingly scarce, and the future uncertain despite complex calculations. How, then, to decide? How to deal with insecurity, risk, and responsibility? Should you listen to your brain or rather follow your intuition? As part of the lecture series “Science in the Dinosaur Hall,” the psychologist Prof. Dr. Gerd Gigerenzer will talk about the “Art of Making Decisions” at the Berlin Museum of Natural History on December 9, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. His research shows: We often make better decisions when we know less.
