Hasn’t it always been a dream of mankind to escape its own limitations? Will it be fulfilled in this century, when nanobots repair the body and transhumanism promises eternal life?
In ta nowadays’ Wunderkammer, the Humboldt Laboratory in Berlin’s Stadtschloss with its forest of exhibits, we invite you to an evening that addresses the relationship between technical-scientific feasibility, ethics and faith. The WUNDERKAMMER with its subtitle “The End of Wonders” leads to musical, scientific and performative experiences and encounters: into the sound worlds of the Teichmann brothers and the multi-instrumentalist Sebastian Lange as well as to automata, today’s robots, ideas of the Renaissance and Enlightenment and to concepts of transhumanism. What value do we want to assign to ourselves, to human life even in its limitations and imperfections? What impulses could other than technoid perspectives provide?
