The artists

Roshanak Amini is dedicated to discovering, acknowledging, and exploring those aspects, situations, and moments in everyday life that symbolize a rupture with the ubiquitous. Through storytelling, she explores themes of collective and childhood memories, immigration, and history. In the studio, she aims to expose students to approaches to artistic research as well as to the practice of art. Together they record sound, develop sound walks and audio books, and create sound installations.

Roberta Busechian works with installations and projects in the field of sound art. She uses media such as visual art, performance, visual poetry, new media, humanistic studies and digital art to combine sound art practice and theory. Her goal is to provide students with a more sophisticated understanding of sound art that goes beyond equating sound art with experimental electronic music and electroacoustic practice.
